You cannot update the application clamtk from inside the application itself. Software installed through the software management system Software Manager or Synaptic or apt-get can only be updated by the software management system Update Manager , once updated software packages have been made available in the official software repositories. I've decided to use ClamTk on my Ubuntu, the problem is that it just simply wont update the antivirus engine and the GUI version from the software itself. By the way, does anyone know if ClamTK is a decent antivirus software? Once installed ClamAV will run in the background as a daemon and you can use the ClamTk interface in Linux to interact with it.
