You'll have a folder called player, and inside that will be folders with a variety of different player versions. If the web player is trying to update it means that a game you are trying to play needs a newer version.
The latest stable version of the player is 4. Maybe try deleting any folders that look like that, in case the updater is finding a previously downloaded file and trying to use that.
Where i can found the latest stable version..? The plugin "loader" fetches the runtime components and writes them into the mono and player folders.
Inside these two folders you should see other folders, possibly called Stable or Release. If you dive into those folders you should find a file called Info. Open that with Notepad and it'll tell you which version it is. If you can tell me what the game is that you are trying to play, i'll work out what Unity version it needs. The version is "4.

Lately I just can't consistently play Adventure Capitalist. Sometimes if I uninstall the Unity Web player, reboot and then re-install it, I can play it. The issue persists across all browsers I have tried, so it's not browser specific. I even downloaded a different browser to try it out in there.
